What To Expect

Seoul
PARASITE is the first foreign language winner of best picture at the 2020 Oscars.
The film follows two disparate Korean Families, one rich and one poor, and all that ensures when the poor family cons its way into the lives of the wealthier one.
This tour is following the places where the "Parasite" is filmed.

01. Seongbuk-dong
Scene : When Ki-woo is on his way to his tutoring job interview, to meet the Parks for the first time, he walks past a
charming village called Seongbok-dong. The affluent hillside neighborhood in Seoul is home to many ambassadors’
residences, art galleries and cafes. But, the extravagant home of Mr. Park in the movie was built on a film set in Jeonju.

02. Woori Supermarket
Scene : At the beginning of the film, Ki-woo was recommend a high-paying tutor position in the rich family from his
friend while he was drinking Korean soju with him the outside of the Woori Supermarket. The real name of the
supermarket is Doijissal Supermarket(or Pig Rice Supermarket). Featuring the same old school Lotte Ice Cream Fridge
that appears in the movie, the front door of this neighborhood grocery store has become a popular photo spot thanks to
the film.

03.Stairs in Ki-taek’s Village
Scene : When Ki-jeong(Jessica) buys peaches and carries them to the rich family’s house. The staircase is situated just
steps behind the Doijissal Supermarket, which is dubbed Woori Supermarket in the film. The area has been undergoing
years of redevelopment featuring new apartment complexes that tower over older neighborhoods.

04. Jahamun Tunnel and Stairs
Scene : The place Ki-taek’s family headed after escaping from the Park’s house when they returned home unexpectedly
from their cancelled camping trip due to the heavy rains was the stairs of Jahamun Tunnel. As you look over the steep
stairs across the street, the image of Ki-taek’s family descending hurriedly into the poor neighborhood will com back to
your mind vividly. In particular, the inside of the tunnel has a spooky atmosphere the same as was shown in the film. The
atmosphere becomes even more alive on rainy days.

05.Pizza Generation (Sky Pizza)
Scene : The early scenes of Parasite, the Kim family were folding boxes for the pizza together at their basement home.
The name of the pizza restaurant is actually ‘Sky Pizza’, not ‘Pizza Generation’. You will go and see what the pizza
restaurant in the film looks like in real life and also will try a piece of the pizza there.
