Overview
Only 20 km away from the North Korean border is Hwacheon County. There, one of the top winter festivals of the world takes place. At Sancheoneo Ice Fest you can catch fish through a hole drilled in the frozen river. After successful fishing, we will hand the fish over to the chef’s desks and get them cooked to have a grub on it.
If you are up for something more dynamic, dare to jump into ice cold water and try catching sancheoneo by hand. Bobsledding and ice sledding are also prepared as parts of the festival.
