Overview

The DMZ area is the closest district to North Korea. This 7-hour tour (including transfers) is primarily held in the Imjingak peace park where you can see the freedom bridge and Mangbaedan.

Next, head to Dorasan station. Do not miss the souvenir stamp of the station!
(Please note that visiting Dorasan station may be prohibited during the pandemic.)
Then move to Dora observatory where you can take a glimpse look at North Korea. Depending on the weather, you might be able to see North Korea through a telescope at the Dora observatory.

The last stop will be the 3rd tunnel, which you will have the opportunity to enter the tunnel made by North Korean soldiers on foot.

Great tour with Jung. She was very knowledgeable and explained all of the history and current status very well. Also managed to get us at the front of the queue for the organised tour. Would definitely recommend.

I booked this tour through my hotel. Originally cancelled due to safety issues but then back on last minute. The car picked me up with two people already in the car at 8am. It took just under an hour to get there.

Our driver asked us to join the ticketing queue which was a bit odd as we assumed this was already taken care of. 20-30 mins of queuing we were told to wait aside while our driver spoke to the staff. We were then told that the tickets were ‘sold out’ for the day. There were three tickets left however all at different times 12pm, 1pm & 2pm……it was 9:30am. Very frustrating as what were we going to do for hours on end. I managed to get a 10:30am ticket but the couple had to wait until later that afternoon. No one was very happy as what’s the point of booking.

I joined the 10:30am bus which was an already established tour group. I just filled the empty seat for that part of their tour.

The tour itself was great despite the JSA being closed since before Covid due to African Swine Fever.

I’m glad I did the tour as what I saw and learned was amazing but I suggest really doing your research as there’s a sign at the ticketing desk stating, ‘first in best dressed’. These tickets seem to be taken by the big tour companies & lots of people get sent away when all tickets are gone. A long way to go for no reason.
