Overview

With this tour, you'll see all of these, modern and historical sites all together!

In Gwangjang market you can try the most popular Korean foods. At least 5 different foods will be provided. The market is also famous for Korean traditional clothes, Hanbok. You will see a lot of Hanbok stores.

After the market, we will walk along Cheonggyecheon stream. Koreans love to hang out and relax there to escape from the city life.

We will see Heunginjimun (Dongdaemun East gate), treasure N1, one of the 4 main gates into the city in the Joseon dynasty. After the gate, we will walk along Hanyangdoseong (Seoul city wall fortress), also from the dynasty. City view from the fortress is amazing!

We will also visit Ihwa Mural Village with lots of street art and wall paintings. The tour ends in Daehakro area, near Hyehwa station (line 4), a major arts and culture street with hundreds of theaters.

Busy market with lots to see and buy

Plenty of food stalls with some selling identical items. We just ate at any stall. Ahjummas could speak a little English. Food is cheap, abt 3 to 5K for simple dumplings or jjajangmyeon noodles. Think you can get pretty tasty food at any stall. There is an area that sell snacks, dried foodstuffs and handicrafts that you can bring back home. Fruits are cheap here 10K for abt 20 good sized strawberries.

I had a wonderful experience on my Gwangjang Market & Fortress Wall Tour with Honey Trail! The food was delicious! I truly enjoyed the walk along the stream and the Fortress Wall, which was (to my delight) longer than I expected with some good hills included - wonderful views and parts of the city I might not have seen on my own. Thanks to Honey Trail for a fantastic experience and introducing me to new parts of Seoul that I now love and hope to return to!

Had a great afternoon and evening with Lee - first in the market having mung bean pancakes, then looking at hanbok clothes. That was just the start ... then we went via the Cheonggyecheon stream to the East gate - Dongdaemun and up along the city wall. It was all such an authentic Korean afternoon experience. Lee is very welcoming and a great leader as she explains many of the local connections, all in a communicative and engaging manner. The small group I was with came together in this event and we shared many stories in a cafe afterwards. Highly recommend Lee and her Honey Trail tour company.
Great tour. Highly recommended.

You get to learn a bunch of fun facts about Korea while walking through the market, eating local cuisine, and walking along the wall. The guide Lee was very nice and knows the area well. The view and sunset over Seoul from Naksan was beautiful. We lucked out as the sky was very clear.
