What To Expect

Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park

Located at 7 km from the military Demarcation Line, the park has many statues and monuments about the Korean War. It was built in 1972 with the hope that someday unification will be possible and also to console those from both North and South who are unable to return to their families.

Freedom Bridge: The bridge was built for temporarily use, so there is not much significance in its architecture. However, the bridge got its name because South Koreans came back to South Korea through this bridge from North Korea after the signing of the Armistice Agreement.

Dora observatory: Located nearby the 3rd Tunnel, Dora observatory was first opened to the public in 1987. Here, you can overlook North Korea and various locations including Gaeseong, Songaksan, Kim Il-Sung Statue, and Cooperation Farm (Geumamgol).

Brilliant Trip, 100% Worth It

Our party of 4 were picked up from Suwon by John at around 8am. He drove us all the way to the Freedom Bridge area and organised all of our tickets and coach travel. He was extremely knowledgable and would tell us stories and facts about each area we visited. We saw the Freedom Bridge, Peace Village, the observatory and the tunnel the North dug. We had a brilliant day, and ended with bulgogi at a lovely restaurant.
