Overview

Suwon Hwaseong is one of the unique architecture in the 18th century, providing a glimpse into the scientific, architectural, and artistic aspects of Korea. It is considered a unique building in the construction history.

Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon is easily influenced by its beauty even if you don't have any background knowledge of history. It is even ironic to feel beautiful in the castle associated with the war.

Also, Hwaseong Fortress is emerging as an icon of Korean traditional historical culture and is becoming a popular tourist attraction in the world. (One of the 50 places in Korea selected by CNN)

We REALLY loved this tour! We were only a family of three. We really liked the individual family attention that our guide provided us. We were the only ones in our group which made it very easy to ask as many questions as possible. Fun Time à
Excellent Day Tour of Suwon and Jeonju!
ChloeBaloney, 25-04-2019
I was visiting Korea with my mum for her 60th Birthday, and most of our itinerary for the week comprised of day tours around Seoul and neighboring cities. This was by far our best tour, made possible by our guide, Gabriela. She was our most knowledgeable and welcoming docent, and we enjoyed the Suwon half-day tour so much that we booked a second full-day tour right then and there for the following day to Jeonju. We requested Gabriela once again and we were not disappointed by the company and her tour.

Some highlights:
- Very punctual, attentive, welcoming, and knowledgeable English-speaking guide
- Tour had a good balance between sightseeing and historical information
- Beautiful views and scenery within the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, similar for next-day Jeonju Tour
- Adaptive and understanding (My mum needed some rest breaks during the walk which was perfectly alright with our guide)
- Excellent food selection if your tour includes a meal
- Hotel pick-up and drop-off

Overall, I'd recommend this company and our guide to anyone who wants a richer experience when visiting a new and foreign place in Korea. This tour took a lot of my mum's stress away since we knew we were in capable hands when visiting a new city. The company offers a variety of short day tours and longer multiple day visits to different locations, and we'll surely include another tour from Gabriela and "I love Seoul Tours" during our next trip to Korea.
Terrific tour and guide, Yura

We had a wonderful 1/2 day tour of Suwon Fortress with Yura. It was just the 2 of us. Yura was very engaging and gave us a lot of information during the tour as well as some general information on Korea during the 40 minute ride there. Logistics were perfect. No delays in waiting to see the performance at the end of our visit.
We were met on time and headed out...

We were met on time and headed out to the fortress, Geanie was a very informative guide, explaining all about the kings and realms of the era. The fortress was huge and quite beautiful, a half day was just the right amount time to explore it. On a Monday there is no performances, however it was still a nice morning. Liz

Some potential in this tour was lost. On arrival, it seemed time was frittered away, waiting for the trolley ride. Leaving aside it was a bit gimmicky, it pointed out and then continued past, without stopping, the most photographic parts of the fortress. That made little sense. The time at the palace for the king's mother was good. The military display at the end was very good but again photographic chances were limited as the guide did not suggest maybe arriving a bit early for more of a front row seat. In the small museum before the palace, we were rushed through to a fine little film. The pace of the tour was wrong. As we had come from Seoul, we had transportation. It could have been incorporated into a better visit to the fortress, certainly earning at minimum another star.
